About Us!

Gaye and Rodney have been the owners of Top Notch Boarding Kennels since 2004.

Gaye worked as a vet Nurse for 25 years in a large small-animal practice in Christchurch. During that time she also house-sat several private homes and catteries while owners went on holiday. She has had several pets, mostly re-homed from the clinic where she worked – she’s a big softie at heart!

Rodney is originally from Taranaki, where he was brought up on a farm, but he has lived in Christchurch for the last 15 years. Rodney’s pet dogs have all been boxers - until now.

Gaye and Rodney sadly had to have their new pup Ice put to sleep in Oct 2009 due to uncontollable epilepsy. Ice is pictured right with Rodney and more pictures below. They still have Harley the pet Ram and his 3 girls, Rudey the Rooster and his 4 girls, and Tigger & Kev the pet KuneKune pigs.
