Pet Vaccinations

To Board at Top Notch we need your dog to have valid vaccinations for the entirety of their stay with us

We know this can be confusing, so we have produced this guide to help determine whether your dog is current.

There are 2 types of vaccinations we look for:

Multivaccine

This covers the Parva virus and also some other viruses. This vaccine usually is given in 3 shots when a puppy and then a booster jab is given every 3 years. Therefore, to be current we insist on the administration date being less than 3 years old at the time of boarding.

The most common types of this vaccine are Vanguard+5 and NobiDHPPi

Kennel Cough

This covers several of the viruses which can cause “kennel cough”. This is given on an annual basis by Vets. There is good evidence in scientific journals that immunity diminishes from around the 9-10 month mark, therefore we insist that any dog boarding needs a current Kennel Cough Vaccination that is less than 10 months old.

This is easy to work out, get the date your dog had the vaccination, add a year and knock off 2 months. For example, if your dog had his jab on the 1st of September 2020 (the 9th month), he would be ok to stay with us until the 1st of July (7th Month) 2021.

The most common Kennel Cough vaccinations are Vanguard KC and Canigen KC.

Vaccination Information

If your dog’s vaccinations are up to date prior to their booster they only require it to be done 48 hours prior to their stay, however if they are out of date, they require it to be updated at least 10 days prior to their stay.

You can upload a photo of your dog’s vaccination booklet, through our online booking portal. If your dog has stayed with us since Feb 2021 – you and they will have a profile- this is based around your email address- if you would like to upload details and you don’t already have a password- click on the “I don’t know my password” button on the booking portal and you will be emailed a link to create a password.

Please ensure that any photo’s clearly show the date the vaccination was given, if we can’t see it we can’t accept it as evidence that your dog is compliant.

You can bring your book with you on check in, however if it turns out your dog is out of date they will not be allowed to stay so if you are not sure please contact us to check.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding vaccinations as we are aware it can be confusing, and we would hate for your dog to be unable to stay. There are some examples of vaccination certificates shown below to help.

We cater for a maximum of 30 dogs, which enables us to provide individual attention for each dog
